Black Cat Chase 5k

Last night I ran my first 5k and it was I blast. My daughter Twila ran with me and if it wasn't for her I don't think I would have done as well as I did.I finished two whole minutes faster than any unofficial 5k I have ever run.The race was at night at the state capitol in Frankfort and it was beautiful and running with my daughter was priceless.
I have always worried how I would react to running with a large group of people and if it would freak me out or pump me up .I think the answer to that question is it pumped me up ,I LOVED IT .I am even more determined to get in better shape so I can be more competitive .

My official  time 30:28.

Finally:)

I will running my first 5k this Friday.I will be running with my daughter who is the reason I am running at all.I guess you could say I taught her to walk and she is teaching me to run:).
My plan is just to run and have a good time and not think about my time, but if I finish under 34:00 I will be Happy(two months ago I would have been happy just to finish).

Happy Running

Firsts

Today was a day of firsts ,it was the first time I ran in town .Most of the time I run at the  park which I like but today I had that "treadmill" feeling about the park. You know same thing over and over again. So I sent my daughter and text to see if she was running today she was but was planning on taking it easy because of her marathon next Saturday. This would  be the second first as I always run alone and beside she is still way too fast for me.So we met and as we were preparing to run I notice she wasn't going to listen to any music she thought we would just talk.So I put my tunes back in the car and this would be my third first no music.Overall it was a pretty good run for me we ran 5k in 34:20 not my best time but close.I really enjoyed running with my daughter and I thank her for running so slow:) maybe one day I can run a little(lot) faster and talk a little more and not be as winded.

Happy Running
Brenda:)
